The Ivy Circle Germany – Munich Chapter Q2-2018 Stammtisch will take place On Monday, June 25, 2017, 7 p.m. In the Parkcafe Biergarten Sophienstraße 7, 80333 München The place is in walking distance from both the Munich Hauptbahnhof and the Stachus. In case of sunny weather the get-together will be outside (in the Biergarten – please come the end of the seating, opposite (far away) to the outside beergarden check-out (Kasse).). CAA DC | Find and Mind Your Focus

Location:
Why do people do the things they do? Do you play to win or not to lose? Do you want to get things done or do you want to get things right…or both? In this talk, Dr. Allison Bajger (Ph.D. in Psychology, ’12, ’13 ’14 GSAS) discusses the different ways people motivate themselves and others, and explains why some strategies are more (or less) effective in certain situations. She describes the behavioral implications of different motivational mindsets at work, home, and playing field. In this talk, you’ll learn: 1) How to identify your predominate motivations 2) How motivations interact to predict performance, emotional reactions, creativity, and decision-making 3) What the behavioral tradeoffs are of each motivation 4) How you can change your motivational system for success Wine and cheese will be served.

"Moving beyond Negotiation" - Skills and Tools in the EU Context - Debate with Prof. Francesco MARCHI (ESSEC Business School, Director ESSEC IRENE EUROPA). Prof. dr. Francesco MARCHI is Adjunct Professor of Political Science at ESSEC Business School and Director of the Research and Training program “Negotiators of Europe” at the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation (ESSEC IRENE) in Paris. He delivers regularly trainings on negotiation in several European institutions and he teaches International Negotiation at PSIA- Sciences PO and the College of Europe (Bruges). His research focuses on the negotiation behavior of EU officials and diplomats. He holds a PhD from Sciences PO-Paris.

CAA Frankfurt | Reception for Prof. James, Princeton

Location:
Princeton Alumni are hosting a reception to welcome Prof. Harold James to a visiting professorship at Goethe University’s House of Finance. Prof. James will briefly share his views on the current state of transatlantic economic relations and other questions of interest (such as lessons from ten years after Lehman’s failure 2008). His research focuses on Economics and Financial History and Modern European History, especially on Germany and the European Monetary Union. He is also Official Historian at the International Monetary Fund. The reception will take place on Mon, June 25 at 7pm in the office of Fabricius Vermögensverwaltung GmbH, Opernplatz 10, 60313 Frankfurt.
